Random inked characters

Medium: Graphite & Illustrator CS4
Completed: February 2010
------------------------------------------
Not much to say about these, only that they're all my characters and I digitally inked them in Illustrator. For my digital clean-up portfolio.

Percy Jackson and the River Spirit

Medium: Corel Painter X
Completed: July 2009
-----------------------------
Here's an illustration that I made for the book "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan for my summer illustration class. This portrays the moment when Percy falls into the river and sees a river spirit calling to him while wondering why he can breathe underwater. I'm actually very happy with the way it turned out...

"Titan Up the Party" design

Medium: Illustrator CS3
Completed: January 2010
------------------------------
These logos are for a campaign at CSUF to try and tell people to drink responsibly. Our mascot is named Tuffy Titan, so the center commissioning Graphic Services for the logo told us to incorporate the slogan "Titan Up the Party" into the design. These are my takes on it.

Star Trek MADNESS

Medium: Illustrator CS3
Completed: September 2009
----------------------------------
To boldly go where no man has gone before...

Faerieland Carnival

Medium: Illustrator CS3
Completed: October 2009
------------------------------
For this project, we were assigned a topic and we had to create an online game background displaying that theme. I was stuck with "carnival." So, after many failed attempts at making a scary or traditional carnival, I decided to make one for faeries. :)

Freida Pinto - Fantasy Style

Medium: Illustrator CS3
Completed: November 2009
----------------------------------
The point of this project for Chris Nielsen's class was to take a celebrity and add some sort of fantasy element to them. I had just seen Slumdog Millionaire for the first time and I thought that Freida Pinto was beautiful, so I chose her for my celebrity. This was created and colored entirely in Illustrator CS3 (with the exception of the photo in the background) with some minor color edits in Photoshop CS3.

A Minor Mix-Up

Medium: Graphite & Photoshop CS3
Completed: December 2009
-------------------------------------------
Somebody didn't realize that her eggs were swapped with chicken tamagotchis...

Filled Storeroom

Medium: Prismacolor pencil on vellum
Completed: April 2009
----------------------------------------------
Yet another background done for my Background Illustration class with Cliff Cramp during my spring 2009 semester. I wanted to do something in traditional media, so I stuck with Prismacolor pencils. This piece is also only in blue since it was a requirement for the assignment.

Forest Grave

Medium: Photoshop CS3
Completed: May 2009
-----------------------------
This was actually part of a comic idea that I was working on a little while ago. The cross was added in as an afterthought and I'll probably take it out later. This was done more as an experiment with misty forest lighting.

Native Huts - Line Art and Toned

Medium: Graphite and Photoshop CS3
Completed: May 2009
----------------------------------------------
This piece was also done for my Background Illustration class with Cliff Cramp during my spring 2009 semester at CSUF. The initial line drawing was done in three-point perspective on tracing paper, hence the weird line in the upper left-hand corner of my line art.

Forbidden Temple - Line Art and Toned

Medium: Graphite and Photoshop CS3
Completed: April 2009
-----------------------------------------
This was done for my Background Illustration class with Cliff Cramp at CSUF during the spring semester. It was initially an experiment with five-point perspective and it eventually turned into a whole different beast when I started painting it, especially since I was only allowed to paint in blue.
